The SKC-1000 Prologue 21 released in late 1994, at roughly the same time of the Saturn launch in Japan. Early versions of the Prologue 21 were very closely related to the Sega Saturn, with the motherboard including locations for CD drive standoffs, VCD card slot, and even battery holder for save games. Some differences do exist though, mainly most locations where any connectors would be soldered to the motherboard are populated by headers for connectors to run signals elsewhere, instead of having controller ports and AV out directly on the motherboard. One other item absent is motherboard components having to do with RGB output, instead utilizing 4 composite and 1 S-Video output. Instead of a cartridge connector, a large SCSI card slots into the motherboard. Approximately 7,000-8,000 produced.
